問題詳情

(IV)         Have you ever heard of crickets chirp at night? Sometimes there are so many crickets that it gets really noisy. Crickets make the chirping sound by rubbing their back legs together. The sound can be very loud. Sometimes the chirping seems to last all night. Guess what? The chirping can give you some interesting information. It can tell you the temperature.
It is said that you can count the chirps of a cricket to find the temperature. Crickets chirp faster when the temperature goes up. Here is what you can do.
 1. Listen for the sound of one cricket
 2. Count the number of chirps in 15 seconds.
 3. Add 39 to the number of chirps. The total is the temperature in degrees.
It’s interesting, isn’t it. Next time, when you hear a cricket, count the chirps. You can see if this new thermometer works!
