問題詳情

Here is the preface of Nick Forster’s new book Married to Food.
 Preface
My mother was lousy at cooking. She always had problems with it. To her, cookingwas more like an exciting experiment. You put some of this and some of that in a pot, andyou wait to see what will happen. She always said, “No experiments, no experiences”when her experiment failed. And I heard that a lot.
My father was a great cook and he loved cooking very much. He often said, “Imarried your mom with a table of delicious food, not with a beautiful ring.”
Now, I’m a cook myself. I have my own restaurant. I learned the skills of cookingfrom my father. And I also learned something from my mother and that is her famoussaying: “No experiments, no experiences”
