(14~15)        Losing weight is hard for most of us, but it was made even harder for twelve people inthe Netherlands. The producers of a reality TV show called Big Dsoc locked up six men andsix women in an old castle in the Dutch city of Maastricht, and in this place they competed tolose weight. Each person's goal was to lose more weight than the others, while thirty-sevencameras captured their every move for broadcast.        Inside the castle, a famous chef prepared low-fat food, and the contestants exercisedthree times a day. But, there were temptations, too. A huge fidge full of all the contestants'favorite snacks was placed in the castle. The prize for the winner? Whoever slimmed downthe most received the equivalent in gold of the weight they lost. For the winner, this amountedto a value of half a million US dollars.
