Plastic Oceans: One million bottles a minute
 By the year 2050, the weight of plastic in the world’s ocean will be more than that of fish. Humans use lots of plastic bottles. Do you know that every second we use 20,000 plastic bottles and this number will increase by 20% by 2021? Most of that is bottled water. People use that because of the “on the go” culture and people also don’t trust local water sources. In 2016, the world bought 300 billion more plastic bottles than they did just 10 years ago. If this number continues to increase at such a terrible rate, scientist believe that plastic pollution could become a serious environmental problem that could be even worse than climate change.
 Most of the plastic ends up in landfills, less than 50% is recycled, and up to 13 million tons ends up in the ocean. The plastic in the ocean is what brings the worst environmental results. Not only does the use of plastic lead to the death of fish and birds, but some of the fish who have eaten plastic end up on our plates, and thus hurt our bodies too. The Greenpeace environmental organization believes that major drink companies can do more to solve this problem. One suggested way is to reuse, refill, and recycle these plastic bottles.
