HIGH-DOSE-RATEAPPLICATORSBrachytherapyapplicators used for LDR implants can also be used for HDR. For example, some ofthe most commonly used applicators, for a variety of HDR applications, are Fletcher-Suitor Fletcher-Suit-Delclos.Theseapplicators are used for the treatment of gynecologic malignancies of theuterus, cervix, and pelvic side walls. The applicator set typically consists of three rigid intrauterinetandems, with curvature of 15-, 30-, and 45-degree angles, and a pair of ovoidsor colpostats with shields in place to reduce dose to rectum and bladder.
