以 夏山學校為例，光普偏向人，不偏學科。快樂的木匠強過不快樂的首相。木匠雖非專業人士，卻比首相要專才得多。只是 不強調這點很明顯。
至於博雅教育派的，都是主張通才的。偏貴族教育的邱吉爾，就很多才多藝。
