問題詳情

(7)Thanks to the Internet, we can now access news as soon as it is being reported. However, due to a lack of restrictions about who can post what online, fake news sometiomes makes an appearance. To illustrate this point, let’s look at one article that has tricked the public. In 2014, a false iPhone 6 advertisement showed up on the Internet. It claimed that iPhone 6 came with a spicial new feature: if users downloaded a special update, they could charge their phones by putting them into a microwave. Hundreds of iPhone owners fell for it, and destroyed their phones by microwaving them. Furious about the results, many of them posted photos of their phones shortly after frying them.  When it comes to the Internet, it can sometimes be quite tricky knowing what to believe. If you have any suspicions about a piece of news, inspect the details. Stick to websites that are known for being accurate. And don’t forget that even major news networks can get things wrong.
