That night, she downloaded the program andadded all her friends in a chat room. Then, she used her real name and spent the whole night chatting withthem online. For the next two weeks, she would sit in front of her computer and spend hours chatting withher friends. Sleeping just four hours each night, Michelle couldn’t keep awake in class the next day. Her onlineaddiction kept her from studying well at school.
         One day, a stranger called “Friendlyboy” sent Michelle a message and asked her whether she wanted tochat with him. Michelle started to talk with him online. For the next a few days, they chatted each time whenMichelle was online. Slowly but surely, Michelle dropped her guard. When Friendlyboy asked about herpassword, she just told him.
