      What happens when online map meets a smartphone game? The smartphone game, Pokémon Go, has the answer. Only in the market for several months, this game has broken the record of Angry Birds and Candy Crush and become the latest “most popular smartphone game in history.” Though millions of people enjoy playing the game, some people say that this game has caused trouble with safety at the same time. The world has seen many awesome smartphone games, but Pokémon Go is the first one people say “may cause safety problems.” What exactly is Pokémon Go? What’s so special about it?
       The story of Pokémon Go began with an April Fool’s Day trick. On the April Fool’s Day, 2014, Google put different Pokémons on Google map and invited its users to catch them in the real world. Google map users around the world went crazy searching for and catching Pokémons. The success gave birth to Pokémon Go. Two years later, Pokémon Go hit the market and soon became a great success. The special thing about the game is that gamers can’t just stay home to play this game. They have to use Google map as a guide and go outside to search for Pokémons. The map will show gamers the nearby Pokémons. To catch a Pokémon, gamers just need to turn on the camera and throw a Poké Ball at the Pokémon on the screen. There are also Pokémon gyms on the map, so gamers can bring their Pokémons to fight others’ there. The problem is that Pokémon Go gamers are usually too lost playing the game. They forget about the real world. Some gamers play the game while driving, some go into strangers’ homes, and others even fall down from a bus, or fall into a lake.
       To end the craziness, the company of Pokémon Go and governments in different countries ask Pokémon Go gamers to respect others and follow social rules while they are catching Pokémons. It is the first time people find that playing a game may cause safety problems. However, with the development of technology, it may not be the last time.
