問題詳情
Kamogawa Horumo(鴨川賀爾摩), or Battle League in Kyoto, is a story written by a famous young novelist, Makime Manabu(萬城目學). The story is about a Kyoto University freshman, Akira Abe, who falls in love with his classmate, Kyoko, because of her beautiful nose. To get closer to her, Abe blindly joins a mysterious school club called “Kyoto University Azure Dragons.” In the beginning, the club members do nothing but have barbecues and go camping or hiking. However, on the night of July 16th, the night before the climax of the Gion Festival, the club leader reveals their real mission—to participate in a game called Horumo against three other rival university teams in Kyoto. Horumo is an ancient combat game which originated more than 1,200 years ago in the Heian Period(平安時代). Instead of using swords or guns, each player has to control 100 spirits, known as “oni,” to fight against their opponents. The battle is sort of like the one in Pokemon(口袋怪獸)cartoons, only against the backdrop of the breathtaking beauty of Kyoto city. Recently the story has been made into comics and even a movie.
