問題詳情

It’s easy to think that having money equals happiness. However, a study by the American Psychology Association discovered that this is not true. Although getting raises makes people feel better, earning a high salary is not enough. It’s true that money buys a variety of comforts, such as food and technological devices. Yet, for many very happy people, a TV and Internet access is enough.        Researchers questioned more than 800,000 people about their income and level of happiness. Money was found to provide a sense of security. However, changes in the economy don’t greatly affect happiness. It may come as a surprise, but being realistic is a huge part of happiness.        The study showed that people are happiest when they strive to own things that they can actually afford. Therefore, those that dream of buying luxuries that are out of reach will find themselves always wanting more, and are never satisfied. In fact, having a job that allows your income to grow steadily over time is the key to maintaining happiness.
