問題詳情

Crosstalk is a Chinese tradition with a long history and a bright future. It involves one or more performers having a conversation full of jokes and funny stories. This might sound simple, but it’s not. The jokes in crosstalk are hidden. They are usually puns with many different meanings. Crosstalk performers also need to make use of different skills. A good performer will tease, sing, speak, and imitate other people when they are up on stage.
Crosstalk has a history back to old China, and it shows in some of the topics. More traditional performers usually make fun of how inconvenient life was in the old days. But not all crosstalk shows are about the past. The “new blood” performers talk about modern relationship problems. In China, people from other countries are even creating crosstalk shows in English. One day, we might see crosstalk shows all over the world.
