        For many years, air pollution has been a big problem in China. Especially in Beijing（北京）, the dirty air is even heavily affecting people’s health. “In 2015, the city had 46 days of heavy air pollution,” said the news. The government had its first red alert over air pollution in December. People were advised to avoid doing outdoor activities or driving cars, and many schools were also closed.
         If the people keep living in this situation, they will become unhealthy. Therefore, the government started to take action to solve the problem, and citizens started to pay attention, too. A photographer, Zou, recorded the change of the sky in Beijing every day for three years with his camera. Every morning before going to work, Zou took a picture of the sky in Beijing. No matter it was a bright blue sky or a sky full of gray smog, he posted the picture on the Internet. He found out that he couldn’t see through the sky clearly for more than half of the year. “I want the pictures to speak for me,” Zou said. “I do think that our government should do more, but people also need to make an effort.”
         Zou’s photos have brought a lot of discussions on the Internet. Over 24 million people on Weibo, a popular website in China, have checked his photos. We can see that air pollution is not just a business of Chinese government. Zou said he is looking for a friendly way for the public to work together with the government to save our environment. “It’s not that we want a blue sky at the cost of development,” Zou said. Until they find a way to solve the problem, Zou will continue to take photos of the Beijing sky every day. It is his way to turn the sky from gray to blue again.
