 Ⅰ.Before you go to Iran, there are some taboos or culturesyou should know, or you’ll get into trouble.
1. Giving someone the middle fingers is unpolite.
2. Wearing shorts may get you in trouble.
3. Talking about topics like divorce is not allowed, and gettinga divorce is also a taboo.
4. Holding hands in public or dating is not usually acceptable.
5. The thumbs up sign is a rude gesture.
6. Even foreign women should wear a scarf to cover theirheads.
7. Saying “ba-ba” means something is really nice.
8. If you are invited to an Iranian home, you must always bringa small gift such as a plate of sweets, cookies, or some niceflowers. Bringing gifts of alcohol is a big No-No.
9. Buses usually wait until they are full of people before theyleave.
10. On the bus, men sit in the front, and women sit in the back.
