 Dear Max,
       I’m so glad to receive your letter and gifts--an English storybook and an MP3 player. It’svery kind of you to give me so much. Last month, there was a bad drought in my country.With no water, we couldn’t grow anything and many animals died. What was worse, we didn’thave enough water. Thousands of people died, too. Most of them were old people and youngchildren. I was so sad.
      Sometimes I feel bad about being born and growing up in Somalia, one of the poorestcountries in the world. However, because of the love and help from you and the other peoplearound the world, I have hope.
     With the letter is a photo of my family. Someone from World Vision took  it  for us. See thesmile on my face? It’s just because of you. Thank you for everything that you’ve done for me.
