問題詳情

Young Patty was going to sell milk in the market. She carried the milk in a pail (桶子) on her head. When she was walking, she began to think of what she could do with the money from selling the milk. “I’ll buy some eggs,” she said to herself, “and they will hatch (孵化) into chickens. Then I can sell the chickens for money. With the money, I’ll buy a beautiful dress.”        She kept on daydreaming, “I will wear my dress to the dancing party. All the young men will come up and dance with me. But I will toss (揚起) my head.”       When she thought of this, she tossed her head back, and the pail fell off. All the milk was spilt (溢出).           Patty didn’t know what she could do. She told her mother what happened. Her mother said, “Ah, my child, don’t count your chickens before they are hatched.”
