(一)Coffee drinking began more than one thousand years ago in Ethiopia, which is a country in East Africa. A young man whonamed Kaldi discovered coffee beans. One day Kaldi’s goats were making a lot of noise and didn’t want to sleep. This young manwanted to understand what was wrong with his goats, so he watched them very carefully. Kaldi saw his goats eating some little redfruits from a strange tree which he had never seen before. Kaldi decided to taste these fruits. A few minutes later, Kaldi wassurprised to find that he did not feel tired or sleepy at all. These fruits that Kaldi tasted were coffee beans. Because of Kaldi andhis goats, people all over the world now can enjoy drinking coffee.
